Where Light (and Life) Come From

I was lost in the dark when the words came

Like stars falling from the sky

They fell on burning skin like novacane

And drew inside to where our hidden places are found

I was lost in the dark when the music came

Like a river running wild

Flowing over me like a freight train

Soothing, washing, healing, cleansing, as if sensing. Profound.

I was walking with the stars when the words came

My heart blazing like a fire

Unable to be silent, it rang and exclaimed

Beating, boiling, thumping, prancing, almost dancing. Outbound.

I opened my mouth and a song came

Like a shaft of light piercing the night sky

I could not close my mouth in the face of either joy or pain

Burning, yearning, searching, learning, never turning. Resound.

Minor problem. I've written my post for my next theme, but I can't get my blasted short story for theme two done.

So I'll have to introduce theme flashbacks.

I've been thinking about doing that anyway. I've had multiple ideas for a lot of these themes. For example, I sort of want to write some serial fiction for theme three. You'll probably see some of these themes come back in the future. Maybe even as soon as tomorrow.

Well. I'm sort of struggling with this one.

Sue me, I've never tried to write a piece of romance before. To buy myself a little more time, I'm going to post something else I wrote back in September. It's a little personal, but I did like the imagery.

Untitled

I love

But I cannot touch

For another man

Not by his will

But hers

Holds me at bay

She burns

Her body and soul

Radiant as the sun

I am renewed by her

And destroyed

I'm chipping away at the other piece I'm writing. Wish me luck.
